THE FART PLAY (I’M SAD): A DANCE
by Non Kuramoto
In June 2018 I directed Non Kuramoto’s play The Fart Play (I'm Sad): A Dance. A short play, quirky and surprisingly insightful play about women and the gas that should never come to pass. The brilliant thing about this piece is the combination of farce, music and quick-witted puns about cutting the cheese.
If you are yet unfamiliar with Non's work, you're in for a treat. She has this fabulous web series on Vimeo called Non Kuramoto (Former Master Electrician). I will equally plug the amazing Kat Peña, who is a fantastic actress and a brilliant collaborator. I am so happy that I got to work with this exciting team.
This piece is special to me, and I am hoping to source some funding to make it into a short film in the near future.
The photos here are from our last dress rehearsal, taken by me.
